We will develop and deliver each project in close collaboration with you, drawing on your specialist knowledge of the local area and your adult carers. This ensures that every project meets local need and is carefully tailored to your unique objectives and the carers’ interests and preferences.

creative:voices is Create’s multi-artform programme that enables adult carers to take a creative break from their caring responsibilities, build trusting relationships with their peers and develop communication skills, new interests and confidence. Each project gives adult carers the opportunity to explore their creativity and self-expression in high quality creative arts workshops led by our professional artists.
Intended outcomes for creative:voices
- Carers will have developed their creativity / artform skills.
- Carers’ ideas will have been encouraged, listened to and incorporated in the creative process, helping them to feel valued.
- Carers and staff will have enjoyed / benefited from working with Create’s professional artists.
- Carers will have developed their social skills, teamwork and communication skills.
- Carers will have developed their self-confidence.
- Carers wellbeing will have increased.
- Carers’ achievements will have been celebrated through informal presentations, recordings, performances and other tangible outputs of the project, increasing their self-esteem.
- Your carer service’s programme of activities will have been enriched and enhanced by the inclusion of creative:voices.
Artforms
Currently, subject to artist availability and location, we are able to deliver the following artforms: animation, ceramics, circus, collage, dance/movement, drama, filmmaking, jewellery making, mosaic, mural, music, painting, photography, printmaking, puppet making, radio drama, sculpture, spoken word, textiles, visual art and writing.
Requirements
- A project will take place over two blocks of six half days (options per six-week block could be: weekly for six weeks, two a week for three weeks, etc.)
- Workshops need to be delivered between 4 September 2023 – 31 March 2025.
- 10-15 adult carers to take part in each workshop. A core objective is for carers to develop relationships, helping to reduce isolation, so we aim to have the same cohort of carers throughout.
- You are asked to provide a suitable workshop venue for in-venue projects.
- You are asked to provide at least one member of service support staff to attend all workshops for pastoral care and safeguarding, building relationships with participants and providing us with feedback.
- All staff and participants present at workshops are asked to complete a feedback questionnaire at the end of each workshop series to enable us to evaluate the programme against the intended outcomes.
