What we’ve been up to
In September, Create became the charity partner of The Breakfast Club London Bridge. Along with a monthly donation, their staff now volunteer at projects including art:links, our programme for vulnerable older people. Throughout October and November, disabled and non-disabled students in Essex, and young carers in Nottingham and Uxbridge worked with volunteers from Intu Properties plc to produce murals for their local intu shopping centres. Watch BBC East Midlands‘ coverage of the Nottingham project.

A year of young carers’ art in My City, My Life
Some of the artistic highlights of our young carers’ programmes are currently on show at KPMG’s headquarters in Canary Wharf. Photographs, films and sculptures explore what it means to be a young carer, a story that both Sky News and ITV covered. The photographs are on sale to raise funds for the coming year. Visit our website to see whether you might like to support our work by buying one.

Collaborating with patron Matthew Bourne
We’re inviting you to join us on 8 January 2015 for a fundraising event at Sadler’s Wells alongside our Patron, Matthew Bourne’s production of Edward Scissorhands. We have a limited number of exclusive tickets that include best seats, a signed programme and drinks with Matthew and members of the cast. Please continue to support our work by purchasing tickets or donating now.

creative:space activity pack
It was wonderful to welcome so many of you to our interactive music events creative:space in Milton Keynes and London! The next events are in March 2015, so we’ve created a fun activity pack for you to enjoy with your  children at home in the meantime.

We’re delighted to have been finalists for three prestigious awards this year: Children & Young People Now award in the ‘Young Carers’ category; the “Organisational Achievement” Signature Award for our work with deafblind young people; and the Directory of Social Change “Everyday Impact” Award. In addition, our Inside Stories project with offenders in prison was recognised with 12 Koestler Awards and our Chief Executive won the Highly Commended award in the Charity Times ‘Rising CEO Star‘ category.

Festive wishes
We’re giving you a free e-card to wish you a very merry Christmas and a creative New Year! Download the e-card from our website. Did you know that every donation you make to our Matched Funding Appeal between now and 31 March 2016 will be matched £1 for £1 thanks for a transformational grant from The Queen’s Trust. For example, your £20 will be worth £40 to Create, increasing to £50 with Gift Aid. Please help us reach more vulnerable children and adults this Christmas and see your donation matched.
